  • My vast experience as an editor in various capacities has afforded a mastery of line-editing and a broader vision for analyzing, evaluating, and strengthening writing of all kinds.

I approach each editorial project with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to preserving the original writer's voice and intentions while improving the language, structure, tone, focus, and other crucial elements via rigorous line-edits and feedback. I am also skilled at proofreading for grammar, syntax, clarity, diction, and citations.

I have edited literary novels and novellas, short stories, poetry collections, memoirs, and flash fiction in several genres; nonfiction manuscripts about business and creative writing education; promotional materials for nonprofit organizations; academic essays and research papers; and other projects.

  • As a passionate and experienced educator, I love building strong relationships with students and their parents that can span several years. I’ve found that my friendly disposition, lifelong passion for writing, and youthful demeanor puts most students at ease, allowing me to engage with them naturally.

I can provide English curriculum support for students in grades 6-12, creating individualized lesson plans to augment and diversify their school curricula and to instill joy in essay construction, text analysis, and all aspects of the writing process. Sessions include age-appropriate reading materials and writing prompts designed to target your child’s specific needs and enhance their critical reading skills and writing abilities.

In addition to providing academic support and helping students approach and complete homework assignments such as English and Social Studies papers, I’ve also helped countless students draft, revise, and prepare their creative and/or critical writing for submission to the Scholastic Awards and other contests. Scholastic has recognized me as an "outstanding educator whose dedication, commitment, and guidance are represented by student work selected for national honors.”

  • As lead instructor and manager of The Writer’s Rock, I have worked one-on-one with adult writers to support their creative ambitions and provide accountability on projects large and small.

Along with line-editing, I enjoy working one-on-one to help writers brainstorm, organize, and implement their ideas; emphasize their themes; and realize their overall vision, providing robust encouragement along the way. I also consider myself a professional plot doctor and love engaging in big-picture conversations with fiction writers!

Additionally. I can lend behind-the-scenes support for English, Writing, and Language Arts educators. In the past, I have provided lesson plans, exercises, materials, and feedback on student work for a middle-school creative writing teacher. That teacher still refers to me her “secret weapon.”

  • I have worked with countless high-school students from a wide variety of schools and backgrounds on their common-app essays and supplemental essays, guiding them through brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and meticulous editing.

I fell in love with the college essay over a decade ago and consider it a true art form. I believe every high-school senior has a unique and meaningful story to share, and I am dedicated to ensuring that their voice shines, experience rings true, and essay stands out.

Students who worked on their college essays with me have been accepted to Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, Barnard, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, Tufts, Wesleyan, Northeastern, NYU, Mount Holyoke, Bryn Mawr, and other prestigious colleges and universities.

  • I would love to design and lead a specialized one-off or multi-session workshop/masterclass to meet the needs of your students or organization!
